Dry stowing and its advantages

Non-dry stowing and its advantages
These wet berths used in this case can be found in many different sizes and are easily available at almost any time of the day and the night. Dry stowing disadvantages
The combo of wooden boats and racks are not that great. Fork lifting can put a strain on the vessel and cause cracks and leaks. There can also be warping around the hull if fibre glass racks are used because they do not support the vessel enough. The biggest disadvantage is the fact that your vessel will not be free to use when you need it. If you especially need the vessel during the night or early in the morning, it will not be possible because the operators only work during the day time for specific hours. There will also be a bit of a rush for the docks during the weekends and any holidays.
Non-dry stowing disadvantages
The vessel will be prone to the damaging effects of weather. In the case of high tides and storm you will have to secure the vessel better and that will cost additionally. There is also a need for bottom painting because there will be aquatic growth on the underside which is not good for the vessel. The stowing mechanism means that there could be expensive repairs in tow as well such as fixing the haul out which is very costly.
